BREAKING 2027: INEC RELEASES FINAL LIST, CLEARS ENGR. EMMANUEL FRANKLIN CHIDERA FOR GREATER AWGU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY
The political atmosphere in Greater Awgu Federal Constituency has taken a significant turn as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) releases the final list of candidates cleared to participate in the 2027 National Assembly elections.
Among the candidates officially cleared to contest is Engr. Emmanuel Franklin Chidera (Wizard), the candidate of the Accord Party (A) for the Federal House of Representatives seat representing Greater Awgu Federal Constituency — Aninri, Awgu and Oji River.
The release of the final candidate list officially places Engr. Chidera among the candidates who will be seeking the mandate of the people in the forthcoming election, setting the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive contest across the constituency.
According to reports, the final lists for the two chambers of the National Assembly contain a total of 4,408 candidates contesting for various seats across the country.
For the Senate, the list comprises 1,080 male candidates and 115 female candidates, reflecting the broad participation of Nigerians in the 2027 electoral process.
The commission's official timetable also provides for the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections on February 6, 2027, while the National Assembly elections will be conducted in accordance with the timetable released by the electoral commission.
